I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Hello....New To The Site
Hey how's everyone doing? I'm new to the site (already ordered my thejdm.com sticker!) and I drive an 88 Civic DX hatchback (Old Skoolers unite!) and it's just getting underway. I'm painting the car black by myself and it'll be my first ever DIY paintjob. I'm also building a semi-Frankenstein motor for it. The engine will be a 2000 Si bottom end and a GSR head mated together with a Mugen headgasket along with an XSi tranny. ITB's are planned for the future and I hope to have one monster all-motor setup when it's all said and done. After the engine is finished, Im purchasing an SiR front end and a set of old-school Mugen wheels (haven't decided which ones yet). This site looks like it has great information and be very helpful.

Well, it's a mix-n-match motor with spare parts I have laying around. Plus I'm getting the entire GSR head built and some CTR pistons from a friend so I should be good to go. Plus I'm not going for an insane amount of horsepower, I'm just trying to get a daily driver with some balls to it so it should be fine enough for me. But yeah you are right, it is a backwards setup lol.tenchu wrote:Welcome!
Might I ask why your doing and SI bottom and a GSR head? The GSR bottom has more power, and the SI head has more flow, sounds like you got it backwards, LOL.
Good luck, stick around, enjoy your stay!
