I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

hey man i honestly think that doing up a non turbo engine to turbo is not the way to go unless you get most eveery detail as in this case it looks like you have, if yuo build up the internals i dont see any problems as long as you beef up the clutch and add the fun factor of an lsd this makes the car way more predictable

on the other hand the sr20 was built by engineers that know their shit but this is not to say the engine is not flawless

i am thinking of doing a porr mans all motor setup on my ka24de mill the head to bump up the cr open up the intake and exhause and port the head, maybe build an na header from some ss tubes if i can get ahold of a tig, if i can bump up the power for next to nothing it will be a fun project

got any deals on silvia front ends? i found one for 650 shipped to canada but its in no where perfect shape to say the least

one more q, was 15.7 done on a stock ka24de?

well any engine is built by engineer..

why don't you just go sr20.. if you like the sr20.. the money will add up if you don't spend it doing custom headers.. any nissan motor N/A sucks.. when you boost.. then your having power :)

silvia front.. have mine already.. got it locally for 650 bucks.. triple projectors beams, brackers, 2 fenders, bumper and hood y0!

and yes.. i ran a 15.7.. but not stock.. i ran it with a 3inch exhaust with not CAT .. meaning i woul dhave more top end than low end :)

just want to know.. because everybody is telling me i'm building the wrong engine.... which is my ka24de off a 1991 240sx fastback.. getting the block built. machine shop, dropping the CR to 8.5:1 with JE pistons and slapping on Crower Rods :) .. what do you think ? i'm doing a good setup or what?

not to mention the silvia frontend i'll be putting on the car y0!
i've personally seen a lot more problems with KA motors than i have with all of the SR's i've done. most of them seem to have crank/bearing problems. i spun a rod in mine after only 2 days of driving it. the other problem i always see with KA's is oil leaks. almost every one of them i work on has massive oil leaks everywhere, which probably cause most of the bearing problems i see as well. if you really plan to build a KA the right way, it would be fine for a turbo, but i would still rather stick with an SR. secret services is pushing almost 540 hp on a stock block SR, so they definitely have the potential to hold the power...
