I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

scraping the truck idea....

Post by Dont Blink » February 02, 2006

since i was made an offer i couldnt refuse so i sold it. and for that i bought a couple 240's. i got this one at an auction for 150.00 needs a fender and a headlight is out, so that means i gotta replace the whole front clip for the JDM version.
Image Image Image the other car is a red 89 hatch with black interior.

so heres me question to you guys. which one should i build? they both are pretty much even on the rust thing(which isnt bad) .i'll do a break down

1989 coupe(pictured above)
cream and gray two tone paint
tan interior
crank windows
no sunroof
basically an old/ugly color combination but i like the now power options

1989 hatchback
solid red paint
gray/black interior
power windows
sunroof(after market)
nicer color combination but as power equipent and a cheezy sunroof

the silvia front clip is coming reguardless, i always like squareish cars and never liked pop up headlight(them little motors are heavy)

my goal is a daily driver with nice power. i'll leave either car the factory color, i could never bring myself to spend money on a color change paint job when i could dump it somewhere under the hood.

so whats everyone think?

White coupe. I see alot of red and black 240s. power acc = ghey.

daily driver with DECENT power? I'm sure it'll be a little more than decent considering your track record.

Well it all comes down to prefrence. Now don't forget you can swap most of the interior from one car to another..atleast as far back to the rear passenger seat. So if you wanted to keep the coupe you can swap out the ugly interior for the black interior from the hatch.. and since you bought a silvia conversion you can make it into a Silvia..or a Sil80. I have the looks of a sil80 but if i wanted to make it factory spec I would need the sqaure headlights and the aero bumper. If you keep the coupe your going with a stiffer chassie and its going to be alittle liter then the hatch because it doesn't have all the options like power everything. Weird thing is..I don't remember USDM coupes comming 2 tone?

Sure did. That cream one above, the seafoam green with silver, a silver-blue with silver lower, and they made a fridge yellow with silver lower, that's the one I want. Ugly fridge yellow coupe with Silvia front, oh God yes.

Oh, and if I were you I'd build up the fastback and sell the coupe to me, thanks. :D
