I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

YES! i'm finally getting an sr20det. i didn't think i'd be able to for a while but i went and took out a student loan for 3,500 for it. I have then engine comming in from sunrise japanese... it should be here by the end of next week. i've also started getting all my parts/upgrades together to do the swap. here's what i have so far...
koyo aluminum racing rad.
2 12" electric fans
greddy type RS bov
megan downpipe
s-afc II (black edition)
guage cluster from a later year (mines an 89' and the guages won't work)
catch cans (rad, power steering and oil)
ngk plugs
fmic and polished aluminum piping kit
samco connectors
walbro 255 fuel pump
battery relocation kit and stainless battery box
autometer boost and oil pressure guages in a-pillar pod
a'pexi turbo timer
and im still trying to track down powersteering lines from a later year... or im gonna try to have sunrise get the ones for the sr20 for me
i've also decided that if i have any cash left over, im gonna go with a kaaz 2-way lsd, but we'll see what the funds allow.

idk.. im just so damn excited i felt the need to post. i'll be sure to get pictures up of the swap in progess and when its finished as soon as we get started on it.
also, if any of you have any suggestions of other shit that i should get let me know, or if any of you know where i could get the above mentioned powersteering lines.

thats cool man..sounds like all those parts are going to fill up your budget. make sure you leave some extra money aside for clamps/hoses/bolts/nuts and shit like that. I just actually completed my swap the other day and now im just tryin to get it semi tuned. Kaaz is a good choice but set aside atleast 1000 for that cause even though their lsd's go for around 800-900 im pretty sure your not going to be able to install it yourself. I only did a small upgrade to my motor cause i was working on a budget aswell

s13 redtop
Megan Turbo manifold
Megan 3'Turbo extension
Megan 3' downpipe
Koyo Aluminum Radi
Flex a-lite dual fans
HKS wastegate Accuater (set to 10psi instead of stock 7psi)
cheap ass used FMIC with turboxs bov (got the whole kit for free)

Later this year im plannin on upgrading the fuel system but as it sites now the stock pump can handle my small t25.

Have fun with your swap and let me know if you have any questions about the swap.

correct. sr20det is what was in the 180sx and silvias in japan from 91 on. before that was the ca18det :)

yea im definately gonna be posting pics of progress as soon as we get started on it... i think im shooting for the first weekend in april.
i just talked to sunrise japanese today and they're waiting for a new shipment of sr20's to come in from customs. i guess they're expected in later this week. so im hoping to order friday or the following monday and i'll have it here 4 days after.

and about the power steering... any of you guys ever try to hook it up in any year 240? or especially an 89-90? im tryin to figure out what is gonna be the best way to go about doing it. from what i here, it's not too bad at all as long as i can track down the power steering lines from a later year, or a silvia itself. idk, we'll see what happens i guess. i might just go ahead and get some braided stainless lines made b/c tracking down the correct lines is looking to be pretty difficult.
