I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Ban Mark Mitsubishi

Post by munster » November 05, 2003

This post is all over almost every car forum online right now. It's over a deadbeat seller on Ebay.

Here is the original thread (read for background info):
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthr ... genumber=1

Here is the Ebay Auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 2438028950

Here is the dealership inventory page (*note: ralley red Evo with same VIN still there):
http://www.markcars.com/Theme/Mitsubish ... wInventory

Let those bastards know what you think of them. Alot of us know what it's like to deal with a deadbeat buyer and seller. It's pretty bad that a DEALERSHIP is doing the same that you would expect some shady asshole down the street from you to do.

*EDIT: Page 131 of the original thread.

Mark Mitsubishi faxed a unsigned Vehicle Buyers Order to me yesterday. The VBO specifically lists Stock No. S3451 and VIN# JA3AH86F73U121255 (the ebay car).

The finance manager informed me that he had received ~1400 emails over 1 day (if I understood him correctly).

RE: Speculation on Finances

Mark Mitsubishi offered me the ebay car at the auction price on Monday . I accepted their offer on Tuesday. If I could not have afforded the car and then started a negative post about the seller, I would have to kick my own ass.

I think this is a great example of what can happen when people join together. I think this guy would have been screwed if he wouldn't have pursued it like he did.

MarkD, you get a big thumbs up from thejdm.com and so do all of the car nuts that backed him. Show those deadbeats what we can do.

Check the end of my original post. It took about two weeks, but the guy got the car for the price that the auction ended at after the dealership was flooded with emails and calls. They almost lost their Mitsubishi license.

I know if I was some higher up at an automobile manufacturer I would have taken their license just because it gives the manufacturer a black eye just as much as the dealer.

yeah, that was absolutely amazing, took me about 3-4 hrs at work to read all the posts and see where it went. crazy that over 1million people knew about it within hours. pretty cool he got the car finally and everyone was restored. I guess they will learn their lesson (at their expense) about ebay auctioning, and lying to their customers, lol. owned :>

I did the same thing. I read through the first two pages or so then got all wrapped up and kept going. I eventually jumped to page 130. Crazy that post got that much coverage in a matter of a few days.
