Lexan window questions.

Has anyone any experience with this? I'm reading what I can find but I'm still not confident enough to go forward with it. I'm planning to replace my rear 1/4 windows with Lexan. Mounting my fuel cell behind the front seats (where the rear seat should reside but isn't) and having a flush fuel door mounted directly to the glass on the right side (as seen done on the Norris Designs Evo IX coupe.

Any and all tips are welcome and appreciated.

i thought u were goin to do duel filler necks on either side so u never have to remember which side its on

Go gangster man, notch the spare tire well and mount the fuel cell there, like so

Then just run the filler in the middle of the trunk inbetween the tails.

I was going to do that, but realized that my fuel cell will fit nicely behind the driver's seat. Also, with the lexan windows I could have my filler neck like Taniguchi's HKS S15 was. Or as seen here in the Norris Design's Evo IX..

(Couldn't find a picture of the old silver and black vinyled HKS S15.)
Plus I'll then have a super deep trunk for tires/tools/sandwiches/etc. when track time comes.

I am looking for tips from people who have worked with Lexan. Any opinions welcome.

sorry to get sidetracked but you will need a firewall between pass compartment and fuel tank and when cutting lexan use a fine tooth blade and use some kinda tape on both sides

Yes, that's part of the plan.

I dunno, it seems like if you made the filler in the lexan window you would have to make some supports for it as well, because the lexan will bend when you put pressure on it...
Especially if you were daily driving the car and were filling up regularly...
I would say just throw it in the rear and just run it from the stock filler tube position, cut that out and then run a new one to the fuel cell maybe..
