I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

rsx rear seat install into ek hatch

Post by IN2deep » April 26, 2006

ok so i have been planning on doing this swap for the rear, i got s2k seats for the front and i had read up on it but i saw a post on clubcivic and honda-tech by the same guy who did the install with rsx seats front and back,
http://www.lukekailburn.com/seats.html

link above to the page im referring to, Image he used cloth im plannign on doing leather i dont see a gap there? maybe its the angle but i was planning on doing it the smae way using my seat frame but putting the rsx seat over the ek frame, makes logical sense to me but ive read on several other sites this has a huge gap from the seat uppers to lowers, im not interested in buying rsx leather seats and going to that much trouble for it to look like shit, but this guys above looks good in the pics and i understand pics can show what they want somethimes and be misleading but thats why im asking i thought someone on here had some 02-05 si seats ( i believe thats the years) not positive though and i heard they were very familiar to the rsxc seats? anyway enough of my rambling can someone shed some light on this for me
thanks in advance :?:

Here is his full write up on HT

You can see in this picture there is a significant gap. And in order for that frame to be black, you'd have to paint it because normally its silver in color. Totally not worth it imo, looks like a hack job...

hey man thanks for the link to the h-t thread,
this is a quote from the guy who did the swap to someone else on h-t who asked about the rears

civic-speed--yah i agree. the rears are a bit ghetto but when u consider how completely different the seats were i couldn't think of any other way to install them lol. i wouldn't recommend rsx rears to any civic owner because of the pain they are to install but overall im happy. the interior still holds a stockish look but is nice and clean..

i think these would look alright with my s2k fronts that are black as well, what do u guys think
these are more expenesive than the rsx seats but would be alot less work to install and also fit better

yea definatly, dont waste your time with the shitty lookin rsx ones. CTR's would be a good way too.

If you really want all leather, try getting them reupholstered
