I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

I hate crank pullies.

Post by munster » November 09, 2003

First off...my crank pulley was a BITCH to get off. After one busted socket, a smashed knuckle, and a new impact wrench we finally got it using a piece of exhaust, a cast iron pipe, a breaker bar, and a chain wrench.

My question is...who makes/sells crank pullies? I figure that I already have the lightened flywheel. Maybe I should get a lighter crank pulley (plus we fucked it up a little on the air conditioner groove). I don't have air so I don't need the last groove anyhow.

unorthadox racing makes pulleys, but all aftermarket crank pulleys suck. they arent harmonically ballanced causing increased bearing wear. some people swear by UR. i myself, wouldnt sacrifice baring life for a somewhat quicker reving car.. if your not gonna run P/S or A/C just go get yourself a CTR crank pulley, only has the groove for your alternator belt

I need a manual rack to get rid of it. That's a springtime thing since there's no heat in the garage. (You found that out already, Jawn)

I already talked to a few people after posting this, and heard plenty of horror stories with aftermarket crank pulleys. I just need a stocker now. Anyone?
