I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

GST Troubles

Post by JTaken » June 25, 2006

Now, I'm not sure whats the matter, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it.

Recently, I had been driving down the road, kinda beating on my car, I got to about 4k rpms in 2nd gear, and it sounded like the blow off valve went off. Ever since then, when I'm driving, It won't go past 2k rpms in 2nd gear. I thought it might've been the intercooler piping, and my friend suggested the blow off valve was malfunctioning.

If anyone needs anymore info to diagnose whats wrong, lemmie know.

Any help is appreciated.

When I had my DSM I had the same problem. It turned out that one of the clamps on the intercooler piping got loose.

Ah, I was pretty sure I had tightened all the clamps down pretty tight, but I can check again. Also, does it sound realstic that a hole might've occurred in the piping, or is the boost pressure not that high?

Not reasonable for a hole to happen. When it happened to me I had a front mount and it wasn't properly supported which caused the clamps ot come loose.

Sorry, I don't know much about this. I am learning.

Where are all the susceptible spots for a boost leak to occur?

all silicone. Check clamps. Check vac fittings.

what blowoff valve are you running? It could be sticking open like my RFL did.
